TMP System SW HW V3.6 & 3.8
DEFORMATION & GEOPHYSICS
Volcanic Station (IN+MG)
Inclinometry & Magnetometry
Description:
The acquisition of inclinometry and magnetometry are merged in a single application called volcanic station and with EV code. Due to this new program the applications IN and MG from the version HW 3.6 are discontinued. The description of each application is identical to what is shown in Inclinometry and Magnetometry.
TMP was designed to operate along with Applied Geomechanics series 701-X or compatible electronic Tiltmeters. The working principle of the Tiltmeter is an electrolitic sensor similar to a bubble level but more accurate. When a change in the inclination angle occurs, the sensor resistance changes. These variations are then translated to a voltage difference. The TMP digitizes the voltage variations and converts them into data which are sent to the processing base for its further interpretation.
TMP was designed to operate along with FLUXE FL3-100 or compatible analog magnetometer. The working principle of this sensor is based on a detection coil used also as a compensation coil. The generated magnetic field raises until the outer field in sensor core is fully compensated. This compensation current is a direct measurement of outer field and is read as a voltage. The TMP digitizes the voltage variations and converts them into data which are sent to the processing base for its further interpretation.
The new program can activate a methodology or both at the same time, allowing a single digitalization hardware to receive data from two different sensors.
